PROJECT RELEASE RESURRECTION RYE

Resurrection Rye is the embodiment of endurance and resilience, something indicative of both the whiskey's journey and the journey of those who made it.

It began as an experiment, with no firm idea of where it might end up. The smoked heads and tails from an unreleased smoked rye were folded into the next distillation of Straight Rye. Ben was convinced it would leave just a gentle hint of smoke behind. Andrew wasn't so sure. Neither was Ian.

Matured in a recharred, heavy-toast American oak cask, previously used for Straight Rye, and bottled at cask strength, the whiskey spent years developing a personality of its own. Sometimes it was okay. Sometimes it was a little better than okay. Every now and then it turned into something genuinely amazing, before it seemed to retreat again. It was never quite clear where it was going to end up.

As it approached four years in barrel, something really started to happen. The whiskey developed an incredible depth and richness, with layers of raisin and fruitcake, and a gentle, lingering hint of smoke. The kind you get at a backyard party when the fire's in full swing.

Something we assumed lost at times, now perfection.

Sometimes it pays to have faith.
